Section Engineer

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Section Engineer for a 1-year civils project based in Plymouth . This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major infrastructure development, contributing to the successful delivery of complex and high-profile civil engineering works.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage sections of site construction works, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines
Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment
Interpret technical drawings and ensure works are carried out in line with specifications
Monitor health and safety compliance and promote best practices on site
Conduct site inspections and manage quality control procedures
Prepare and maintain site records, including daily diaries and progress reports

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Section Engineer on large-scale civil engineering projects
Strong knowledge of construction processes, technical standards, and health and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Excellent communication and team coordination skills
Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
CSCS card required; SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
